Ok, so its late September, and Fall is officially here! Fall is by far my favorite season. I love the crisp fall air, leaves changing colors, warm, fuzzy cardigans, hot coffee, campfires, and comfort food. This past weekend I checked one thing off my fall bucket list. I visited an apple orchard for the first time!! I had so much fun and can’t wait to go back again.
With that being said, below I’m sharing some of my favorite inexpensive things to do during the fall season:
- Have a bonfire.
- Find fall festivals and harvest events (social distancing approved)going on in your area.
- Have a pumpkin carving session.
- Go to an apple orchard and pick apples.
- Create a Smores Charcuterie board. This is one is pretty epic!
- Go stargazing.
- Go for a hike. Going hiking in the fall allows you to take in all of the awesome fall scenery.
- Watch Halloween movies.
- Go to a thrift store and find vintage Halloween costumes.
- Make apple crisp.
- Make your own fall wreath.
- Try a new soup recipe.
- Make a chili bar. This is a great example of one.
- Visit a corn maze.
- Take your own fall pictures.
- Have a Fall movie night at home.
- Bake pumpkin cookies.
- Volunteer.
- Take a scenic drive around your city/state.
- Visit your local farmer’s market.
- Host a socially distanced fall brunch, pot-luck style.
- Light up yummy smelling fall candles around your home.
- Make your own Halloween costumes.
- Learn something new
- Write happy fall letters to your family and friends.

Anyone else get the “Fall Blues?” That feeling of sadness or boredom that usually comes with the rainy weather of fall? Now, I love summer – you get to do so much and enjoy the outdoors. It’s everything I love and is easily my favorite season. While I enjoy watching the trees change colors and the cool crisp air move in, it is sad to know that summer is ending. Even though the season is changing and school is starting, that doesn’t mean all the fun has to end!
