How y’all doing? You guys hanging in there? This time of social distancing and quarantine can be tough, but we are trying our hardest to make the best of it. I hope you are too! If for any reason you feel like drop kicking your partner in the face, perhaps it’s time for a little date night at home to get that old thing back!
Tiffany and I don’t usually work from home together. Pre-Pandemic I worked from home a few days a week. Tiffany being an Electrical Engineer she wasn’t afforded that option. So we definitely cherished doing date night when we had the time. We miss them so much!
Now that we’re confined to our homes, I thought I’d share what we’ve been doing for date night during the pandemic!
Happy Hour on the Deck
This is probably our favorite. As you guys know, I call our deck an “Urban Oasis”. We have an outdoor space that we use quite frequently. With the weather warming up, we make sure we enjoy it. Tiffany and I will make some Cadillac Margaritas or a pitcher of Sangrias and head outside to talk, laugh and spend time together.
Create a Playlist and Commence to 2-step
Tiffany and I each enjoy music. We love all genres from Jazz, R&B, and Hip-Hop. So we have several playlist we can pull out and have our own dance party. Or if you want to take the thought out of it turn on Pandora or Spotify. So again, make some drinks, grab some snacks, and get to 2-stepping!
Dinner & A Movie
This is a staple in our household. Even though we can’t go out and do this in public, we can certainly do it at home! Either order some takeout or try cooking something simple together, like homemade pizzas or a charcuterie board. When it comes to the movie, we love a good suspenseful one! It keeps us engaged and on our toes!
Take a Drive In Your Car
Hop in your car, either choose to pack a meal or support a local restaurant and get some take out. Opt for a change in scenery and drive somewhere pretty like the a lake or a mountain view if possible. Play your favorite music or podcast and enjoy being out of the house as you eat. This is a great one that we have enjoyed. I know it’s not technically at home but it’s a great alternative.
Have a Wine, Bourbon, /Whatever You Like Tasting
All I have to say is, Alcohol has been deemed essential for a reason! Seriously, lol. Instead of drinking our sorrows away, we have chosen to have fun with it. Tiffany is a tequila drinker so its been nice to actually learn more about it. Do blind tastings, quiz one another and find out what the other likes most. The verdict is I don’t like Tequila. But this is definitely something I love to do with Tiffany.
Tiffany and I have enjoyed all of these fun date night ideas, but we are certainly open to new experiences! Comment below with your favorites!
