Thanksgiving Turkey Board

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I thought it would be a good time to share this beautiful Turkey Charcuterie Board. I love how festive and delicious it is. It truly is a Turkey Snack Board for everyone to gobble up!

Thanksgiving Turkey Board

First and foremost, the actual board itself is super important when making this. I used a board with a lip. It makes it so that its transportable and the food doesn’t fall off.  This board was purchased from pier1. It is currently sold out, but this one and this one are similar.

Turkey Board ingredients

The ingredients for this board are the following:

  • brown Bosc pear
  • A variety of scalloped crackers. I used Kebbler Toasted Party Pack
  • Your choice of cheese cracker cuts. I used pepper jack and white cheddar
  • green grapes
  • red grapes
  • pecan halves –If you have a nut allergy, the alternative would be to add dates or figs instead.
  • dried apricots
  • baby carrots
  • snap peas
  • dried cherries
  • mozzarella cheese for the eyes
  • A slice of the creese cut into a triangle
  • My items stuck to the pear. However, honey, can be use for sticking items to pear as well.

It took me about 30 minutes to make with some pre-preparations. I also did not cut the grapes in half, and I used plain pecans.

Instructions

  • Use a 16 inch round wooden board or any round board or serving platter you have.
  • Cut the brown Bosc pear in half and place the cut side down at the bottom of the board.
  • From the pear, fan out all of the ingredients to look like the turkey’s feathers. I started with the scalloped crackers first and then made my way to the pecans.
  • On the left half of the board, add the green grapes, pecans, baby carrots, snow peas, and dried cherries to fill the left side in.
  • On the right side of the board, add the red grapes, pecans, dried apricots, snow peas and dried cherries to fill the right side in.
  • For the eyes, use the fresh mozzarella cheese cut into small circles with a piece of dried cherry stuck to the middle of the flat side of each one. Place them on the pear, flat side up, with a little honey to hold them in place.
  • For the beak, cut a corner off of one of the cheddar cracker cuts and place it on the pear upside down.
  • And for the feet, place two pecans at the bottom of the pear.
  • Serve and enjoy!

So what do you think? Is this something you would try for the upcoming holiday season?
